KOLKATA — Senior politician Chandra Bose — grandnephew of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose — has officially resigned from his primary membership in the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC).
Talking to Safi Journal, Bose announced his future political direction, revealing plans to serve as a mentor for ‘Azad Hind Party’, an emerging youth-driven national political party currently in development.
“I hereby tender my resignation from the primary membership of the All India Trinamool Congress with immediate effect, due to personal reasons. I wish you and the AITC all the very best in all its future endeavours,” Bose stated in a letter addressed to Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee on Monday.
Bose had joined the Trinamool Congress in April this year, ahead of the state assembly elections.
Bose said that he is “disillusioned” with the politics as practised by the Trinamool and the BJP, finding no difference between the two approaches. “My politics is based on Netaji’s ideology,” he said, adding that he now aims at mentoring a new national political outfit, the ‘Azad Hind Party’, led by the youth.
As per preliminary plans, Bose adds, the party would be launched from Cuttack on October 21, the day Netaji had proclaimed the formation of a provisional government of free India.
